$100bn on the table for COP26

We support the young people who have organised the Relay to COP26 who are asking for the decade-old promise to mobilize $100bn of climate finance to be met and exceeded at COP26. As a global financial player and host of COP26, the UK must lead plans among developed nations to secure this essential finance, which is critical to ensuring countries are equipped to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

The UK has a legacy of pioneering climate legislation; the commitment to net-zero by 2050 was one of the first of its kind in the world. COP26 is an opportunity for the UK to leave another legacy, spearheading the financial arrangements which will drive climate ambition over the next decade and beyond; a legacy for the young people on the Relay to COP26 to be proud of.
